Uncreative Writing

Image result for knowledge memeThere is a new type of writing coming of age today and it is called uncreative writing. This is when someone takes comments from something like a youtube video and puts together lit bits and pieces of the comments. An example of this "uncreative writing" is the piece called Night Moves. This was created from the comments of a Bob Seger on youtube. As you may have guessed the song is called night moves. Uncreative writing brings up the same questions as generative text brings up. Like who is the true author of this piece. Is it the person who took the comments from the page, or is it the people who made the comments. It could even be the person who uploaded the video onto youtube. For me I believe the owner of this piece of work is the person who actually put the words together. Just because they did not sit down and think of these phrases themselves does not mean that they do not own the work.  They sat down and put the time into putting these phrases together to make a unique type of writing. As for the people who would argue that the commenters own the work I do not see that at all. Just because they wrote down some thoughts does not mean that they own those words. To me this argument is like telling a good story. If I had a good story that made people laugh would I not want people to tell this story to others to bring joy to others. As for the argument of someone saying that the person who uploaded video owns the all the comments I would disagree to that. They have no control over to who says what on there video. I think they should be happy that they are getting that much attention to a video. These are some of my views on uncreative writing and who is the true owner of the work.
